October 11, 2022 Game Summary --

The KESD North 7/8 Boys hosted a strong Haverhill team Tuesday evening in Lyndon. The KESD team played well and was able to move the ball forward regularly early on. They were able to create several opportunities but strong play from Haverhill's keeper kept the ball out of the net. That is until Gabe Adams found Axel Benoit in front of the net. Axel received the pass and slotted the ball toward the far post to make the score 1-0 in favor of KESD. It wasn't long before Axel returned the favor. Gabe Adams played a pass to Axel who deftly laid the ball off for Gabe cutting past the defense and launching a shot by the keeper. Zane Faherty was exceptional the entire match, especially on defense, often stopping the Haverhill attack before it was able to create a shot on goal. The wide play for KESD looked strong. Lucas Sourbeer and Silas Armstrong looked fast on attack and defense. In the closing minutes of the first half Gabe Adams drove toward the endline and then sent a ball across that found Graham Moriarty. Moriarty struck the ball in the air and it slid just off the inside of the near post. That made the score at halftime 3-0.

Haverhill made some good adjustments at halftime and came out strong finding the KESD team more on their heels. Play was much more even in the second half with Haverhill putting one score on the board about halfway through. The score ended 3-1 and the KESD North Boys will aim to tighten up the ship and carry their positive momentum to their away game at Oxbow on Friday afternoon.
