KESD-Lyndon 7/8 Boys Soccer v. Danville 9/17

The ÐÓ°ÉÊÓƵ East Lyndon-based 7th & 8th grade BOYS soccer team hosted Danville at Lyndon Town School this past Friday. Danville dominated possession near the Lyndon goal for the first several minutes of the game. Goal keeper Tatum Steen (Newark) was able to keep the ball out of the goal. After they warmed up, KESD was able to shift the momentum in their favor. Tyler Schade (LTS) took a pass up the sideline and beat a couple of defenders for a KESD goal. The score at halftime was 1-0.

The second half saw KESD come out ready to dominate. Strong midfield play by Zane Faherty (Riverside) created a number of scoring opportunities in the 2nd half. It wasn't long before Gabe Adams (Riverside) was able to find the back of the net for the first goal of the 2nd half.

Danville did find some rhythm and had numerous strong drives to the goal which were denied by Tyler Schade (LTS). Matt Duda (Burke Town School) found Colin Ulrich (LTS) on a cross. Ulrich calmly tucked the ball into the corner of the goal to put Lyndon up 3-0. Danville countered with a goal making it 3-1. Tatum Steen (Newark) struck a nice ball into the upper corner on a Matt Duda (BTS) assist to put Lyndon up 4-1. Danville again tried to push down the field but strong play from backs Parker McHugh (LTS), Ollie May (BTS), Garrett Mitchell (LTS) and Vance Johnson kept Danville from scoring more goals. Late in the match Steen (Newark) would find Adams (Riverside) for the game's final goal. KESD won 5-1.
