September 28, 2022 Game Summary --

The KESD 7/8 grade boys play a great match against Danville on Tuesday evening. KESD controlled the game from the start with lots of passing especially from Gabe Adams and Graham Moriarty. Danville's defense was staunch and was able to keep out any effort to score. KESD were immediately threatened whenever they lost possession as Danville played long balls up the field. Ollie May and Tatum Steen were very good at tracking the long balls and playing it back up the field. Lucas Sourbeer did a grade job of finding space out wide and helping move the ball up the field. Zac Aubin was strong in the net. Neither team managed a score by halftime.

The second half was a similar story of KESD maintaining more possession and Danville kicking long balls up the field. Axel Benoit managed some nice receptions to move the ball into dangerous areas for KESD, but the team still was unable to score. With only four minutes left, Danville sent the ball deep and found a player making a strong run at goal. Ultimately the ball was ushered out of bounds for a corner. On the ensuing corner kick, Danville sent the ball towards the goal and a Danville player got his foot on it and the ball bounced off the inside of the far post for the matches first score. KESD held their heads high and worked even harder in hopes of finding an equalizing score. With less than two minutes left, Alex Lynaugh redirected a pass to Tatum Steen. Tatum took the ball past two defenders and got off a shot that found the back of the net to make the score 1-1. Both teams put forth frenzied efforts to score in the remaining minute but neither were able to net a goal.
