September 26, 2022 Summary --

It was a beautiful day for a game on Monday afternoon, 9/26/22. The L1 team traveled to the Concord School to play a tight match at 4:00 with a cushion of time before the thunderstorms rolled in.

The L1 team started with a bang with the dynamic duo of Cora Adams as a crafty striker and Lucy Moriarty as a powerhouse center midfielder. Within the first few minutes Cora sank the ball in the back of the net off an assist by Lucy. Then thirteen minutes in, Lucy scored off an assist from Cora.

Lylah Wells came through with some big saves as keeper for the first half of the game, showing skill and boldness.

South put one goal on the board before the end of the half making it 2-1 at halftime.

Cora Adams put in a valiant effort in goal for the second half of the game showing a cool head when getting the ball passed back to her by her teammates during a tight moment and coming through with some big saves.

L1 had a few more promising moments in front of the net during the second half, but could not convert those opportunities into scores. The whole game was a hard fought and even battle between the teams with South evening up the score with 1:30 to go. The final score was 2-2.

Other special mentions go to Lenore Steen and Natalie Mitchell who were solid in the center back positions, and Emelia Brothers and Avrill Scott who both had notable breakthrough performances.
