December 6, 2020

I wanted to inform everyone that we are in the midst of contact tracing related to a positive case of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19). Tomorrow December 7, 2020, our three first grade cohorts will pivot to remote learning. The cohorts of first grade students will stay at home and access remote learning through Friday, December 11th. No students, faculty or staff from this cohort will be in school during this time period. Students and staff in this cohort are tentatively scheduled to return to school on Monday, December 14th.

We are pivoting to 100% remote learning for the first grade cohorts to minimize any possible spread of the virus while we complete contact tracing. When we are alerted about a positive case we then need to review our room logs and attendance records, determine specific contact times and notify individuals determined to be close contacts. We have consulted about this information with the department of health and are making decisions based on their consultation.

Thank you for understanding that, due to medical privacy laws, we are not able to release any names of the individuals with COVID-19. Please do not ask or post on social media any speculation concerning the identity of the individuals. It is important to respect privacy and we are all part of a close community. We will continue to communicate changes and updates with you when more information becomes available.

Continue to take good care of yourselves and each other. Please reach out to Tara Prue (tprue@kingdomeast.org) Soph Hall (shall@kingdomeast.org), Jennifer Botzojorns (jbotzojorns@kingdomeast.org) or me directly (agale@kingdomeast.org) if you have any questions.

Sincerely,

Amy Gale, Principal
