January 29 KESD vs. Danville and Littleton

The KESD 6th grade girls kicked off the Good Shepherd Tournament by taking on Danville.

KESD came out strong scoring 10 points and preventing Danville from getting on the board at all in the first quarter.

Emmy Smith and Mary Jane Kissinger, coincidentally the tallest and the shortest team members, together led the team with rebounds, which helped KESD stretch their lead to 18-5 at the half.

Every member of the 6th grade girls KESD team took a chance at the hoop to reach a final winning score of 32-9. Emmy Smith takes the title of high scorer in this match with a whopping 14 points! Layla Sackett certainly was an asset as well contributing 6 points, Miranda Caron and Josie Royer each racked up 4 points and to round us out Mary Jane and Mariah Birch each had a bucket.

On Saturday, the team earned second place in the tournament after losing to a very strong Littleton team. Congratulations girls!
